Very nice staff. Suites are huge. Elevators are small and hallways are narrow. Interesting murals on the walls - definitely an eclectic approach to style in this building. I really enjoyed my stay here.

We had a bad experience. I arrived at the hotel at 2 am, exhausted from a 6 hour drive. The young lady working at the front desk was from Brooklyn, and she was excited to hear that we were from Brooklyn as well. She then began berating and criticizing the part of Brooklyn that we live in. I had my wife, two kids, and a dog in the car; all exhausted from our drive. I'm not interested in getting in an argument at 2 am, we just wanted some rest! Eventually I was able to get her to change the subject, and complete my check in. The room was nice, however the shower drain was backed up. So we showered in ankle deep water. Bellman was nice, and restaurant staff was nice. The front desk girl needs some additional customer relations training.

This place is awesome! The suites are humongous with extremely comfortable furniture in them which is unusual for hotels sometimes! It was beautiful too. Everyone friendly! Just awesome! Will go back again! Two room suites! Had shrimp and grits in the hotel restaurant also. The chef there is fabulous!

Very nice rooms and the Front Desk Lady was an example of Southern Charm and professional. Very large Suites that are bigger than my Apartment. The feeling is very serene and comfortable. One might think that since it is in the south that it would not be transgender friendly that impression would be wrong. I feel totally at ease in this hotel since I am a transgender woman! Marked transgender friendly by the author.

This was a *great* hotel! Very large rooms, all the comforts/amenities you could want (we had TWO TVs, Keurig coffeemaker, etc) , very chic & nice design, staff are very nice & helpful. Across from the State Capitol. Downsides (maybe): -It was very quiet at night, so it’s not the “liveliest” area to be in. -Elevators are little (it’s a historic building) I would highly recommend this, though, if you want a decently priced hotel in central Richmond.
